James and Leslie met at a charity event in July of 2010. James: "I was a last minute addition to the lineup for the American Cancer Society's Celebrity Waiter in July of 2010. One of the requirements of being a Celebrity Waiter is to have a costume and theme for the table you're serving, so the only logical choice was Elvis (already had the outfit...always ready to go). I had just wrapped up belting out Suspicious Minds on stage, and as I was making my way back to my table, I noticed from across the room this beautifully stunning redhead in a sexy white dress walking across the dance floor back to her table. I knew I was going to have to make a stop at that table before the day was done. So when the opportunity arose, I made my way to her table and introduced myself to her and her friend Rachael (aka Odie). On my second visit to their table I asked her to dance for $5 (hey still needed to raise moolah for ACS), and within 3 seconds we were gliding along the dance floor to Etta James' "At Last" sung by a middle aged Asian woman. I asked her to join me on stage for my last song of the day, and I made sure to walk her out of the country club and conveniently invite her and Odie to my cancer benefit comedy show in 2 weeks." Leslie was "all shook up" from meeting the handsome icon. She knew that night that this man would be her future husband! After the comedy show 2 weeks later, sparks were flying and they scheduled their first official date for 2 days later. "We talked, laughed, danced, and did all the things that makes a perfect first date. He was a true gentleman with genuine charm and confidence. Undoubtedly, all of this was working on me, and falling was effortlessly happening for the both of us. I could feel it. It was sad to end our evening, but all good things must. He walked me in, and as he approached me for the highly anticipated goodnight smooch, I knew that this was going to be my last first kiss for the rest of my life. I was right."
Proposal:
Leslie: On Sept 26th we went to Emeril's for a belated birthday dinner in my honor. Wine was flowing, food was excellent, wait staff was top notch, and love was in the air...and out came dessert. It was covered and James looks at me and says, "You ready?" And I replied "I'm very ready." On my most delicious creme brûlée plate was "Will you marry me" and I looked up and we both cried like babies as he got on his knee and put a ring on my finger. I couldn't even see what it looked like or even his face because I was so welled up with the happiest tears that it was literally all a blur! Ha! Champagne came to the table from a crew of friends that we lovingly call 'the meatballs' and we gave cheers and finished it up. Then we walked over to Tommy's Wine Bar to continue our engagement celebration and as I walked in I hear "Going To The Chapel" playing and the first people I see are our parents waiting to hug and kiss and congratulate us, along with 60 of our closest friends. It was the best!
Planning was a bit challenging since we decided to get married in Mississippi where we spend a lot of family time and neither of us had been to any sort of wedding ceremony out there. So after lots of googling, and Yelping, and chatting with citizens of BSL I received a great bit of advice! We planned the big things ASAP then waited until after the holidays to book the rest. I'd known all along that Crystal was going to be my girl so I called her as soon as we had a date. Planning was a blast. It such a was busy time but in such a fun way! Stressful moments come, but believe me they pass. We just kept focused.
Crystal transformed our Community Hall into a beautiful reception! What was a clean, LARGE, and airy room became a crisp, warm and filled space with gorgeous flowers, ribbons, and fantastic centerpieces. Her vision for this room was the truest guide that everyone who helped transform this space had to go off of. It was hashtag perfect! It was the perfect setting for our Gulf Of Mexico front reception and she alone made the setting exactly what it should have been. Exactly what we imagined.
My wedding bouquet along with my bridesmaids and mothers corsages absolutely BLEW ME AWAY! I know Crystal is crazy talented, and of course I'm biased, but they were the most gorgeous flowers I had ever seen and I had an immediate reaction to seeing them on my wedding day which included a full on knock to the ground full body hug with a few rolls careful not to hurt a petal. And I'd do it all over again!
Thank you Crystal for making it all happen. I knew you were the one like I knew James was the one. True story. It wouldn't have been the same without you. - Leslie and James

We met at Mardi Gras and I proposed while we were snorkeling in Riveria Maya, Mexico. The ring was in a shell and I acted like I found it while swimming. Once we were to a stable place on shore I revealed the contents of the shell and asked her to marry me!
Crystal was so helpful. She responded to all my calls and texts in a very timely manner. She made recommendations based on my Pinterest board and was extremely knowledgeable about flowers. Five stars for the service at our wedding. The flowers delivered were more than I expected. My bouquet was gorgeous. The way the candles were set around the ceremony site was more than I could have imagined. 5 star service.

Brett and I went to church together beginning when we were just little kids. Once we were teenagers, we dated on and off for the next 16 years. December 4, 2015, Brett planned a date to City Park to see the Christmas lights. While there, we stopped to sit on Santa's lap. Santa asked us what we wanted for Christmas... Brett replied (as he was getting on one knee) " I want to know if you'll marry me". I, of course, said "YES!"
I didn't want a long engagement. We had dated long enough and were ready to move on to the next phase in our lives. I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding to look like, and it was just a matter of finding the right vendors to make the vision come to reality. We got engaged December 4, 2015 and married April 29, 2016. My wedding was completely planned by the end of February. While I knew exactly what I wanted my flowers to look like, finding a florist that didn't charge me an arm and a leg to make it happen was a challenge. I met with 2 florists before meeting with Crystal. Both gave me an outrageous quote for what I thought was a relatively simple design. I was getting very frustrated. While meeting with Crystal, I automatically knew she was going to be the one I used. She took the words I said, showed me examples of previous work that fit my description and then tweaked it to make the arrangements exactly how I wanted them. Then she gave me a fantastic price to do all of my ceremony and reception flowers and candles. The vision came true! The entire process was extremely easy and stress free.
I highly recommend Crystal and her team. Everything was beautiful and exactly as I had described to her in our initial meeting. Both the ceremony and reception space was completed by the time the wedding began. Very easy to work with and took a major weight off my shoulders!

"Mark and I actually met through online dating and after our first blind date we just knew we were meant to be together. It felt as if we had known each other for our entire lives and we started a serious relationship less than a month later. Mark planned my surprise proposal with my best friend Katie! We went on a double date with Katie and her husband, Ryan, to the Abita Brew Pub which is my favorite restaurant. After dinner Mark wanted to go see the gazebo next to the restaurant overlooking the park in Abita Springs. As soon as we got to top Mark pulled the ring out of his shirt pocket and asked me to marry him while our best friends recorded the whole thing! Of course I said yes!
I had a clear vision in mind of the type of wedding I wanted so planning was a fun process. I was also very insistent that our wedding reflect Mark and I so after we picked Palmetto's for the reception venue (this is where Mark took me for our first Valentine's Day together) everything else came into play. I knew I wanted sunflowers (they were the first flowers Mark ever gave to me) and lace to be the overall idea while the Bonfuca Bayou would be our backdrop. I also wanted traditional elements such as our Catholic ceremony and family being such an important part to our wedding. My mom handmade 75% of our wedding (centerpieces, fabrics, exit ribbon wands, and my beautiful going away dress) and Mark's uncle's band (Voodoo Gumbo) was our reception band. My dad even partly officiated our wedding ceremony because he is a Catholic Deacon. Planning truly was so easy because I had been planning our wedding in my head for a while! What girl doesn't dream of their wedding day?
I had seen Crystal's work through my best friend's wedding in the summer of 2014 and I knew immediately I wanted Crystal Vase as my florist when Mark proposed to me. My mom and I met with Crystal for our initial meeting and we just clicked. She totally got my vision for a rustic wedding full of sunflowers, baby's breath, burlap, and lace. Not only did she get my vision but she had ideas to make it better. My mom and I were sold and immediately booked Crystal for my April wedding. Throughout the engagement, Crystal was very responsive to any new ideas I had and changes we had to make to fit within our church's guidelines. My mom and I met with Crystal again in February to go over some changes and again a week before the wedding to make sure I was comfortable with everything. Everytime I met with Crystal, I felt better and better about our vision we created together.
I truly can't recommend Crystal Vase enough! She completely captured what I wanted Mark and I's wedding to look like and she made our dreams a reality. Not only is she a beyond talented florist, she's sweet, calm, and so easy to work with. Having calm wedding vendors is essential to wedding planning and Crystal Vase does not disappoint. If you're thinking about booking a florist, look no further! Crystal is truly a class act and her work emulates her bright nature!

"I met with a couple of florists that I just was not really impressed by when a friend recommended Crystal. She was easy to get in touch with and set up a meeting with me at a coffee shop the following week. Crystal was incredibly organized but at the same time very laid back and SO easy to work with! I showed her pictures of different things I liked and she came up with beautiful ways to put them all together AND make everything work with our budget. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. The church and reception venue were decorated exactly how we discussed and everything was on time. Crystal was amazing. That's honestly the best way I can put it. Our flowers were absolutely beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned for our big day. I truly cannot recommend her highly enough. She made everything so easy and convenient for everyone. If I could do it over again I truly would pick her every time."

Jason and I both moved to Atlanta from other cities and met at the gym. We dated for several years and eventually got engaged at the Forsyth Fountain in Savannah, Georgia. I knew that I wanted a vintage inspired wedding. I did not hire a wedding planner, but with the help of the Omni Royal Orleans, Crystal and many hours of DIYs, my vision started to come to life. I was a destination bride so I relied on others to help incorporate my theme. I sought out several florist proposals before settling on Crystal Vase. During my interview with Crystal, it was clear that she was professional, flexible and provided options for all of my requests. She was budget conscious and made me feel very comfortable. Emails were responded to immediately and even planning from out of state felt like a breeze.
The wedding flowers were more than I could have imagined. The bouquets were beautiful, the wiry branch arch was breathtaking and they displayed my decor even better than I expected. They really got my vision and were a huge part in making it come to life. They truly exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend their services.

"We met in college through friends and we went to grammar school together. He proposed at Disney in Epcot during the fireworks.
The planning was great. I had a vision of what I wanted and went for it. I wanted everything to be different from the traditional approach and it was. Crystal was great to work with! She kept me in the loop about everything. Even when we changed the color scheme completely she worked on it with ease. I was in love with my flowers for the wedding. The colors were beautiful and the design was great. Crystal has a great eye for what goes well together!"

Dolph and Casie kept running into each other for a few years all over the city. Eventually she asked Dolph to buy her lunch and the rest was history. Dolph proposed on March 10, 2015. A special date for Casie. Dolph proposed on the sofa at their home. It was perfect for them.
"Our planning process was very relaxed. Dolph and I are both in the special events world as well as my maid of honor. We quickly picked a venue and sorted through vendors. I always felt like there should have been more stress, but it was a very wonderful process. Crystal is wonderful!! She is so down to earth and she truly understood what we were looking for. Of course I changed my mind a few times and Crystal was great when I made those changes and helped me to get everything I wanted within my budget.
Crystal was wonderful. She took care of a few last minute details for me and really eased day of stress."

The planning process of our wedding was so very easy with the help of Carolyn Arthurs at All About Events in New Orleans.
I met with Crystal in July before my December wedding, and showed her pictures of the type of flowers and designs I wanted. She also gave me ideas, and I must say that she brought my vision to life.
Crystal was amazing. She came to the hotel and dropped all of the bouquets off and then went to the venue to finish setting up. the flowers were so fresh and looked beautiful. I am very pleased with her work! Thanks Crystal :)

We met at work. Were friends for a year before we had our first date and have never been apart since. Jordan proposed on 11/1/13 after 4 years of dating. He had pumpkins carved with "Will You Marry Me?" and dropped to 1 knee in the middle of our living room. He then took me to dinner and surprised me with our entire families waiting at the restaurant to celebrate with us. It was an awesome night!
From proposal to wedding day was a 1 year and 4 month preparation. We started planning immediately. I had lots of help from my mother, sister and my cousin, Elizabeth Burkhardt who is also a wedding planner in New Orleans! She's pretty amazing, so everyone should check her out!
Crystal was impeccable from start to finish! I had contacted several florists, but she was the only one who responded to me almost immediately, and also made an appointment to sit down with me to go over everything I wanted. She was also incredibly patient with me as I changed my mind about 473 times and waited until 2 weeks before the wedding to throw in extra things I wanted. She sent me updated invoices every time I made a change and was constantly in touch with me. Simply perfect all around! A+ 100!!!!!!

Proposal: Jonathan told me that there was an event in the St. Louis Cathedral in honor of Pope John Paul II's feast day. When we got to the Cathedral, no one was there except the two of them (and Jonathan's dad and brother to take pictures, but of course, I didn't know this). Jonathan had a letter and the ring on the steps leading to the altar. We said a prayer together and then Jonathan got down on his knee and proposed! We were so excited, and when we got back to my house all of our close friends and family were there as a surprise to celebrate!
We had under 8 months to plan, so planning was not easy. Honestly, nothing was coming together until we got together with Crystal from the Crystal Vase. Crystal was AMAZING. She helped us figure out how all of our ideas would work together. Not only that, she made our flowers absolutely stunning. They worked perfectly with our dresses and our whole reception. When the flowers showed up at our house on the day of the wedding, I nearly cried because of how beautiful they were and how seamlessly everything went with Crystal. She was by far one of the most professional, honest, understanding, and adaptable people I have ever worked with. I owe so much of the peace of my wedding planning to her, and I am so thankful for her willingness to work with us and our budget.
Out of five stars, I'd give Crystal five stars without a doubt. She also did the flowers for my sister's wedding, and we both feel the same way--she is FANTASTIC!

We spent a little over a year planning our wedding. We quickly learned to book with the best vendors, you want to get your foot in the door as early as possible. Booking far ahead of time gave us relief in knowing we had the vendors we truly wanted, and gave us plenty of time to configure our wedding desires to match the dream we envisioned. Crystal was the third florist I met with during the planning process. She was the only florist who made me feel like I could breathe after meeting with. She listened to every tiny and minute detail I had thought of when envisioning flowers for my special day. Crystal put in the time and effort that other florists I met with didn't. She really went above and beyond what I expected, and made my wedding planning much less stressful.
As soon as I arrived at our venue on the day of our wedding, I was speechless at the arrangements Crystal had set up. We had Crystal's team decorate both outside and inside of Benedict's since our ceremony took place outdoors. Crystal's work brought the entire feel of our wedding together and made it magical. Before walking down the aisle, once I was given my bouquet I could not stop staring it. It was more beautiful than I had imagined it would be. Crystal's team really listened to our wants and turned our dream into a reality. Thanks Crystal!
